Scifiniti Publishing, in collaboration with Sci-Train, held a webinar on April 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM GST, titled “Using AI Ethically in Research Writing.” The session was delivered by Dr. Maria Machado, Editor-in-Chief at Scientia, and marked the third joint initiative between the two organizations.
The webinar explored the expanding role of artificial intelligence in academic writing and its implications for scholarly communication. While AI tools are increasingly used to support literature review, manuscript drafting, language refinement, and referencing, the session emphasized that their use must remain aligned with the principles of academic integrity.
Key topics included the critical evaluation of AI-generated content, transparency in disclosing AI assistance, and the risks of unintentional plagiarism or data misrepresentation. The session also stressed that AI should support, not replace, scholarly judgment.
The programme featured a structured presentation on ethical considerations across different stages of the research writing process, followed by an interactive discussion on real-world challenges associated with AI adoption in research workflows.
This webinar reflects the ongoing collaboration between Scifiniti Publishing and Sci-Train to promote responsible research practices and support researchers in adapting to evolving technologies in scholarly publishing.
